Lauren Conrad may not realize it, but there's a knife in her back.
L.C.'s supposed pal Holly Montag has already jumped ship to Team Kristin. "I think Kristin's openness is going to be far more entertaining than anything Lauren had to offer," Holly told us after enjoying some afternoon cocktails at yesterday's Oakley Intro to Summer event at Skybar in West Hollywood.

"Lauren's always been very conservative, which is good for her values, but Kristin just wants to put everything on the line because she thinks reality is real," Holly said. "Kristin doesn't hide anything. She's seriously the most real girl you'll meet in reality television."
But Holly doesn't doubt L.C. will have success outside of reality. "I'm happy she's done with this," she said. "Now, that she's out if it, I have no doubt she'll be a successful designer. She's so talented and driven."
Meanwhile, Stacie "The Bartender" Hall, who is dating fellow Hillster Frankie Delgado has already partied with Kristin on Frankie's birthday. "Kristin's a really fun, outgoing person, and I think we're going to have a great time continuing to film," Stacie said. "Lauren is a good, good girl, but Kristin is more outgoing and crazy."
Things aren't, however, going as smoothly for Kristin and Audrina Patridge. Audrina recently revealed she's no fan of L.C.'s replacement. "There have already been a few fights between them," Stacie said. "There's a lot of competition there."

Inside the HILLS and the CITY!
MTV Gets Real (Sort of)

When tweens tire of Nickelodeon and Disney, where will they go? MTV hopes the formula that launched The Hills and The City can lure teenagers away from Facebook and Twitter...and back to their televisions.

Adam Divello leans forward on a black leather sofa in the MTV offices in Santa Monica, California, watching an almost-finished version of an episode of his hit show The Hills. An editing crew is reassembling footage of attractive young men and women meeting one another in bars, nightclubs, and apartments and exchanging the freighted glares and longing glances that pass for drama in the show and its spinoff, The City, which is set in Manhattan.
Some think America has had enough of Heidi, Spencer, and The Hills’ frenemies.DiVello, the 40-year-old creator and executive producer of the programs—he’s also co-creator of Laguna Beach, the ur-show that gave birth to the genre—has seen these clips several times. He’s now working on a slightly problematic scene: Audrina, a friend of star Lauren Conrad’s (or L.C., as she’s known in Us, People, OK, and In Touch magazines), has heard a rumor that Lauren has slept with Audrina’s boyfriend. DiVello feels that the shot, in which Audrina’s co-worker reacts to this dismaying news, lacks the requisite emotional clarity, so he asks the editor to substitute another take, “maybe something from earlier in the conversation.” Such is the high-pressure world of meta-reality. (Translation: “Shows that play somewhere between scripted drama and reality,” in the words of Brian Graden, president of programming at MTV and VH1.) But in real reality, the pressing question isn’t whether Lauren and Audrina will ever be friends again, but whether that genre of pseudo-reality TV, which DiVello helped create, can sustain itself.
The Hills and its progeny have been MTV’s only bona fide hits in recent years; the season-three finale, in 2007, was its highest-rated telecast ever, with 4.6 million viewers, and it established the series as the No. 1 cable show among viewers ages 12 to 34. But in the fourth quarter of 2008, MTV saw its overall viewership in that coveted demographic drop 23 percent—losing out not to other networks but to other mediums like online social networks. So MTV is doubling down on meta-reality. It announced that it will launch 16 new shows this year, including Taking the Stage—a clone of The City and The Hills—about high-school kids.
The formula, DiVello insists, is still basic: “Everyone wants to know what those alpha kids are up to.”It’s a risky strategy. With these shows, MTV is betting on a particularly elusive sliver of the youth demographic: 18- to 24-year-olds. Yet Graden argues that the programs tap into today’s youth culture in a way prepackaged sitcoms no longer can. “Once you hit 15, 16, you are onto Facebook, onto Twitter, so this is the first generation that has already published the story of their life in real time,” he says. “These shows are what they wish their story was—with pictures they choose, with songs they choose, with their friends.” Of course, as that audience fragments, it’s not enough just to develop a hit show for television; it’s essential to capitalize on the remaining viewers by whatever means necessary.
The success of The Hills, coinciding with falling ratings elsewhere on the network, prompted MTV to build out a multiplatform consumer franchise that interacts with—and sucks revenue from—its fans through mobile phones, digital downloads of music, and the Web. The network pioneered a kind of reverse-product placement through a website called SeenonMTV, which allows viewers to log on, search by episode, and buy the clothes that Conrad or Whitney Port (former co-star of The Hills and now star of The City) are wearing. The site currently delivers more than 30 million pageviews a month, with an average customer order of $200 and annual revenue in the $20 million range, money that is shared with MTV’s online retail partners. The network went even further by launching a fashion line by Conrad, an aspiring designer. That business generated $5 million to $10 million in annual revenue, with the brand available in more than 250 retail boutiques around the country. There’s an interactive community called the Virtual Hills, where fans build avatars, or online characters, and communicate with the actual cast members, design their own fashions, and hang out with other fans. The Hills is also MTV’s bestselling DVD series; with nearly 2 million units sold—numbers on a par with those of The Sopranos. MTV execs are hoping that Taking the Stage, which debuted in March, will replicate, or at least reinforce, the prior shows’ track records. It’s set in a Cincinnati high school for the performing arts, where, Graden explains, “all the kids are beautiful, but it’s more urban.” He argues that, despite MTV’s struggles of late, “there is still space for a strong brand devoted to reflecting this generation.” With all the technology out there, he believes, “nobody has positioned themselves as the dominant voice of this generation. Why can’t that be MTV? It worked for the last generation.”
Viacom, MTV’s parent company, had a disastrous fourth quarter and certainly needs the bottom-line bump of a hit series. What the network needs to prove is that Taking the Stage can provide this at a time when interest in The Hills is on the wane. Between its peak, in season three, and season four (which ended in December), the show lost a quarter of its viewers, according to Nielsen.
In March, Conrad announced that she was putting her fashion line on hiatus. The City is struggling too: Average viewership is 1.38 million an episode, half of The Hills’ at its lowest.But failure is not a reality, meta- or otherwise, that either MTV or DiVello entertains—at least not now. At a recent shoot for The City, the director and producers sat hunched behind a table. They watched the cast members on four microwave-size digital monitors with toaster-oven-size screens showing the scene from four different angles. They relayed directions to the camera operators and production assistants—“See if there’s steam coming from that coffee cup,” “Get that guy away from Whitney”—while an assistant producer typed the dialogue as she listened to it through an earpiece. The vast majority of what was said was of no interest to anyone; DiVello has learned to be patient with his kids, watching and waiting and editing and dubbing over dialogue so that the story will come through in the end.“I try to tell them not to worry, that sometimes they’ll look better than others,” he tells me after I ask how a meeting went with a distraught Whitney. She was upset, concerned that she would look like a bad girlfriend for showing up late for a club gig that her boyfriend’s band was playing. “Adam and I text all day long,” she tells me. “I think of most 40-year-old men, and I don’t think they have the same understanding.... He just knows what’s going on. We just have to pretty much put all our trust in Adam.”

Based on her comments to Cosmo that she was sick of the Hills producers forcing her to see Heidi, I kind of wonder if there was an ultimatum issued at some point. The ultimatum being Lauren or Speidi. Realize, MTV had already caved atleast once, allowing Lauren's relationship with Kyle to go unfilmed. Lauren thinking that MTV would not want to lose the star of its best rated and most talked about show decided to overplay her hand thinking that one, she could get rid of Speidi and two, possibly get more money with their salaries gone.

Paris Hilton is slamming a new report that she and beau Doug Reinhardt were tossed off David Furnish's yacht for hooking up in the bathroom.
British papers claimed the heiress was asked to leave after she and Reinhardt were caught in a "compromising position" over the weekend following the Cannes Film Festival.

I was surprised last night that MTV did not haul out Kristin for the after show.
Two other things about the after show, I don't care what they say, Lauren still does not like Kristin.
I was also surprised that Lauren still blames the show for her breakup with Jason, she still seems hung up on Jason. If I were Kyle I would run if he wants a long term deal with Lauren. And Lauren, was the show responsible for Jason cheating and doing drugs? Makes me thing Lauren is a little whacky in the head!

The game JON and KATE and The Learning Channel played totally worked, J&K plus 8 drew twice as many viewers as usual!
Not surprisingly, the fifth season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 reached a record 9.8 million viewers on Monday.
The premiere episode, “Cake Boss”, garnered TWICE as many viewers as the show’s previous series high, according to THR.

Welp, I was totally wrong on my original theory on this one, the original theory being the "affair" and the "trouble" were not for ratings - oops, i was wrong!
My PREDICTION for the future of the HILLS.....
Realize first, the Hills is already in decline and has been for a couple seasons, the best of the Hills was seen in Season 2. I believe once a shows rating begin to decline it is rare if ever that the show turns around, think Desperate Housewives. I also believe that even though I personally like Kristin better and am looking forward to her on the show, Lauren has a much larger fanbase. So some people have already tuned out the Hills and many more will likely exit with Lauren next week. So the people that say Kristin is taking over some great franchise from Lauren are obviously not looking at the ratings. I think Kristin may add a spark to the Hills but I think it is unlikely that she can save the show. MTV is making a mistake if they try to force feed the audience a Justin Bobby and Kristin relationship - that in all honesty is the worst thing they can do. I suspect the Hills does one more season in the end.

It's May — you know what that means. It's getting warm, the flowers are blooming and the time-honored tradition of prom is back again. So get your corsages, turn up the cheesy music and fuel the limos, because this week we're catching up with your favorite stars and helping them relive their prom memories.
Many people capture their prom in photos that they later share with their friends and family on Facebook, but some people had a whole crew documenting every second of the dance — like Kristin Cavallari did when she was on "Laguna Beach."
But the soon-to-be "Hills" star went to more proms than just the one we all saw on MTV. "I actually went to five proms, which was a lot," she told MTV News. "My favorite was senior prom, and I wore a dress similar to the color of my shirt, like a peach dress."
She also talked about her date for the night — who most fans of the show will remember. "I went with Talan, who was on 'Laguna Beach,' and I think most of my prom was on an episode of [the show]."
Despite having cameras in her face all night, Cavallari said she had a blast. "Senior prom was just a lot of fun," she said. "It was just all your friends right before you graduate ... and it's, like, the last thing."

In a new interview with NewsMagazine Pratt says he lied to Conrad in order to get her to the wedding to fulfill wife Heidi's dreams of having a dream wedding. He says: “Let me give you the exclusive right here… See, my lovely wife wanted that girl, LC, to be at our wedding, and I knew I had to do whatever as [an] almost-husband to get her dream wedding put together. The KENNEDY'S.....
So I caught a special last night on the Kennedy's and while I may disagree with the families politics, how can you not just feel so sad for what Robert went through, his Dad has a massive stroke, his brother Jack is killed, Teddy almost dies in a plane crash, all in just a few years. And of course later he is murdered as well.

Is SPENCER PRATT dying?
Spencer took to his Twitter page, tweeting, "the doctor just woke me up with a call saying i need to go to the hospital because the test i took show signs of low blood platelets!"
I took a quick trip over to WEBMD and low platelets means his blood does not clot properly so if he gets injured or cut it can be a problem. All in all, does not sound that serious.

It looked like Katrina was going to cry at one point. I thought it was just mean spirited to do to a young girl. Hold a grudge much Kara? What a desperate bitch!
In the end Adam Lambert lost to Chris something or another. Obviously some voters were turned off by Adam's flamboyently gayness. Adam was clearly the best singer on the show.

Shawn JOHNSON wins GOLD again, this time on DANCING WITH THE STARS!
Shawn Johnson has a new trophy to add to her collection of Olympic medals!
The 17-year-old gymnast won Dancing With the Stars Tuesday night. She and professional dance partner Mark Ballas beat out fellow finalists Gilles Marini and Melissa Rycroft on the ABC show's season finale.

"I've learned I can be more than just a gymnast!" Johnson, the third Olympian in eight seasons to win the mirrorball prize, told Usmagazine.com. "I've really grown as a person. This has really changed my life. This whole thing has been the time of my life -- just an amazing experience."
All three finalists performed one last dance, each earning a perfect score of 30 from the judges. After viewer votes were combined with the judges' scores, Rycroft was dismissed first.

Show host Tom Bergeron said "less than one percent" separated Johnson and runner-up Marini, who was paired with pro dancer Cheryl Burke.

The new issue of Us Weekly reports that Jon & Kate mom Kate Gosselin -- known for being short with her husband, Jon Gosselin -- is even more combative with her family and employees.

A 2005 AP story reported that a pre-TV Gosselin had petitioned the state to extend payments for Krall, whose fees were first paid by Medicaid (Jon was unemployed; Medicaid provides limited assistance to premature babies). "Kate Gosselin said she feels society has a responsibility to help with the children, since modern medicine promotes the use of fertility drugs, which can lead to multiple births," the AP reported.

Star Trek star Chris Pine takes a pic with a fan while out for drinks with The Hills star Audrina Patridge at the Red Lion Tavern on Friday (May 15) in Silverlake, Calif.
“Chris and his girlfriend [Beau Garrett] broke up in March, and he is definitely single,” an insider reveals to In Touch. “They went out, and Audrina is into him.”
Audrina, 24, Chris, 28, first met at Tao in Las Vegas at ShoWest.
“They both got awards and were at a dinner with friends. They said a quick hello,” the insider says. “That’s where they met. Chris was looking at Audrina a lot, and you could tell that he thought she looked pretty — he was intrigued.”

Kate Gosselin’s brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Jodi Kreider, are coming forward about details of an alleged marriage contract that would allow Jon Gosselin to see other women while they were filming their TLC show Jon and Kate Plus 8.
“All we know is what Jon told us, that Kate came to him with a contract saying he could have girlfriends and that he can do his own thing,” the Kreider’s tell Radar. “In exchange Jon needs to show up for filming. But otherwise he has the freedom, certain days, to do whatever he wants. This is a train wreck for all to see.”

I have to say I think I was off the mark on JON and KATE!
After seeing how the "affair" has blown up in the media and how "timely" it was with the premiere of this season on the 25th, I think it is pretty fishy and was most likely well coordinated for ratings. So I was wrong and some of you were right!

"Basically...they want me to come in and start drama," she tells Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. "I'm good for it, it's fun."

"I had nothing to do with that! She was leaving, and I thought it was a good time to come in because she's gone," Cavallari says, adding that she'll "hopefully" become the next narrator.

The Parker Jackson story.....
Who was Parker Jackson?
On November 7, 2006 Lauren called me and told me our son Parker was 1 hour late to see his girlfriend. Neither of us could get him to answer his phone. Lauren sensed trouble and called 911 and asked if there were any car accidents in our area. The police confirmed a car accident on Providence Road right around the corner from here. I jumped in my car and began driving down Providence Road redialing Parker’s phone over and over with no answer and saying to myself, “Parker be safe be strong, be safe be strong.” I drove almost to the end of the road, and I started to be relieved and let out a deep breath … whew no accidents; we are ok. But as I came over the last hill at the end of the road, my heart started racing faster because all I could see was blue lights and red lights from all the police cars and fire trucks everywhere … it looked like a Hollywood disaster scene. A police officer ordered me to stay in my car. I got out anyway telling him, “That’s my son’s car!” I ran to the car which was crushed against a tree to get Parks but he was gone! “Where is my son … where is he?” I yelled. The officer than said the words that will ring in my head forever … “Sir, your son is dead.” The next thing I knew I was knocked to the ground by what felt like a lightning bolt driven through my heart. Our 16 year old son Parker was gone … He did nothing wrong. He was wearing his seat belt, going the proper speed and not talking on his phone … It was an accident … but for Parker the game of life was over.
Unfortunately Parker’s life is over. But, fortunately, your life is not. So the question is, “What are you going to do with your life?” Here’ what I think Parker would want you to do…it’s the same as the most valuable lesson his amazing life has taught me. And that is…

"Their lives have changed - they're not struggling anymore," Berman tells Usmagazine.com. "They're eating at fancy restaurants now. Yeah, they still have eight children, but things are different.

Here's what is left of the truck that killed the Milton teenager!
One dead and two more seriously injured, but it was all in the name of a good time right? A few beers, some speeding, the middle of the night, all in the name of a good time.
The Milton student will never graduate, never get married, never have kids but hey it was a good time right? The driver will likely be charged with atleast manslaughter, but it was a good time right? The driver's brother will never be the same but it was in the name of a good time right?
A good time was had by all and thats what matters.
There are CONSEQUENCES to your actions!

Adam has a family and Adam has friends who are certainly devastated by this loss. The CHILDREN involved in this accident are simply that, CHILDREN. I hope that Adam's parents, who are friends of mine, never come across your comments and your so called "gladness" over the loss of their son. Surely you would agree that the only joy that could have possibly emerged from this is if all three boys walked from the accident unscathed. You say that you are glad that a family was not killed in this accident, but you should take a second to consider the incredible pain that this family is experiencing. No one deserves what has happened to Adam.

Milton High School teenager killed in drinking and driving wreck, two other teens injured!
A Milton High School student was killed in an early morning wreck that injured two others, one of whom is also a student at Milton High, according to police.
Adam Stephens, 19, died in the single-vehicle wreck that occurred at 2:37 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of New Providence and Dorris Roads, about a mile away from Milton High, said Milton Police Department spokesman Capt. Shawn McCarty.
Police say Stephens and two male teens, whose names have not been released, were riding in a 1972 Chevy pick-up truck when the 18-year-old driver lost control. The vehicle flipped at least two times, ejecting the driver and the 16-year-old male.
The two injured teens are in serious condition at North Fulton Regional Hospital, McCarty said.
No others were involved in the wreck. Police believe alcohol and speed played a role in the crash.

Every year as spring rolls around and as flowers bloom and grass grows, selfish and irresponsible teens in every state take to the road to "celebrate" their prom, their graduation, even just summer vacation, and along for they ride comes alcohol. They drink because its "fun", its "cool", they get a "buzz" and because they are teens nothing bad can happen. So in their selfishness they put others at risk, they put fathers and mothers and young children in other cars at risk, again, for a good time.
Let me be very clear, I am GLAD that the only people hurt and killed in this "accident" were the ones who made the CHOICE to drive the streets in the middle of the night drinking and speeding through this town.
This is not a tradgedy, a tradgedy would have been if they would have hit and hurt or killed or crippled someone else.
Death does not always come from old age or disease it comes too from poor decisions.

PULLED PORK from the OVEN!
What you need:
1. Frying Pan
2. 3 lb. boston butt (its really the shoulder) - bone removed is the best, if you bone in do about a 6lb.
3. Spices(garlic salt, red pepper, pepper, sea salt, whatever spices you like, it all works)
4. Brown Sugar
5. Roasting Pan(Pay th foil one in the store with some depth, makes clean up a sinch)
6. Apple Juice
7. 1 Can of Regular Coca Cola
Season the pork with spices and brown sugar, let it marinate for an hour.
Heat the frying pan to high, coat with bottom with olive oil or vegtable is fine too, sear the pork on all sides and all areas.
Remove the pork from the pan.
The pan will be covered with brown bits, add two cups of apple juice to the pan, this is called deglazing, as the apple juice heats, scrap the pan, this does two things, you get all the flavor from seering the meat, the apple juice thickens slightly, and two, it cleans the pan for you basically.
Place the pork in the roasting pan, now with a sharp knife slit the pork in various spots, now pour the apple juice solution from the pan over the pork. Now pour the one can of coke over the pork.
Preheat the oven to 350.
Place the roasting pan covered with foil in the oven.
Set a timer for six hours.
Everyhour, turn the pork over.
After one hour turn the oven down to 300-325.
Meat should reach 170-180, use an instaread thermometer.
After 5-6 hours remove the meat, wrap tightly in foil, walk away for one hour.
Now when you unwrap the pork, it will pull apart for easily.
How to dress it, splash a little apple vinegar over the pulled pork and add your favorite bbq sauce to taste.
I personally think it is better to dress it and then let it sit overnight. The flavors really come together.
This makes 8 sandwiches easy.

A very simple, easy and delicious way to start your mornings....
What you need:
1. A blender
2. Protein powder, I use EAS Myoplex packets
3. Soy Milk
4. Misc. Fruits
Use about 8-12 oz. of the soy milk, I use about three strawberries usually, a handful of blueberries or blackberries, and I use about a quarter of the packet of the protein powder, just blend it up.
You get about twenty grams of protein, very moderate carbs and its all about 250-300 calories.
If your a rebel or you want to mix it up, throw in a few walnuts.
Any fruit really works great, cherries, peaches, bananas....

The POST OFFICE is doing a great thing tomorrow, MAY 9th, 2009!
The post office mail carriers are collecting canned goods and dry goods tomorrow, all you have to do is in a bag of some kind, put out any canned goods or dry goods, for example, canned corn, canned green beans, dry pasta, etc. and the mail carrier will take care of the rest. Just set the bag by your mail box.
The post offices are then going to distribute the food to help the hungry.
This is a great thing, so easy, similar to the Polo thing a couple weeks back.
Do your part, we have a few high and mighty people on this board, so get off your ass, shut your mouth, and help stamp out hungar.
The people that run their mouths the most in comments are the same people that don't do a darn thing!

Hydrogen Peroxide cut with some water, swish it around in your mouth for a minute or two after each time you brush your teeth, it helps kill the bacteria in your mouth and dry it out, takes usually just a couple days.
The salt water method, salt and warm water doesn't work as well.
Same thing with a baking soda paste that is made with just water and baking soda and then applied to the area. It just doesn't work as well as the HP.

1. Residential Mortgage Interest Rates will be over 10% by the end of the Great Obama's first term.
All of these great programs from the great one are costing a lot of money. We issue what are called treasuries to pay for this, treasuries are basically an I owe you. Typically, China and Japan among others buy these as we have been the most stable country in the world and we make our interest payments without fail on these treasuries.
But now, with our debt rising 100% by most accounts and our debt to growth falling substantially, guess what, thats right because the debt is riskier, Japan, China, etc. are going to want more interest. So guess what will happen, the prime rate which determines what interest rate you pay for your house, your car, your credit card will begin to rise and rise dramatically in the coming years.
2. If I am correct and rates are 10%, the great Obama will have ZERO chance of getting reelected.

For my Atlanta Audience, BERT SHOW needs to END!
So when the Bert Show first hit the air, it was really a fun show to listen to, it was far more progressive and original than Steve and Vicky and the show had likeable people.
The show originally began with Bert Weiss, Melissa Carter, Jeff Dauler and Lindsay from MTV'S Real World Seattle and Crash Clark did traffic.
Bert was married and didn't have kids and didn't suck up to celebrities, Melissa was going through kidney transplant, Jeff was playing phone scams and other great scams and Lindsay brought some quasi celebrity to the show. And sweet Crash, generally got drunk everywhere and brought even more comedy to the show.
The show was consistently entertaining.
Lindsay left year 2 I think when she took a job doing tv in Tampa, Fl. At that Jenn Hobby who had been doing some small bits on the show became a regular. Jenn was originally very likeable, she was dating Ryan Newell of Sister Hazel and brought a refreshing dating aspect to the show.
Over time, Crash was let go for a prank gone bad on another station and went to Boston to do radio. Bert had two kids. Jenn got married and divorced. And some others came and went, some more likeable then others but I kept listening.
Here are the problems with the show now, the show has moved up the ratings and in moving up the ratings, other opportunities have arisen, Jeff got in the biscuit business, Jenn started doing some minor tv, so did Bert, Melissa got another national radio show that has since been canceled but I think the outside stuff has killed the show and all of their heads have gotten too big.
I will take them one by one:
Bert, he used to be really down to earth and if nothing else likeable, now he is celebrity crazy and spends more time talking about he went to a party here with such and such celebrity or he played Augusta National, and its just obnoxious now. He thinks he is more than he is and he has lost the likeability he once had.
Jeff, he used to be genuinely funny with creative phone scams that long ago died because he got bored with them and he also stopped trying to scam everyone. Now, he is largely useless with the very occasional funny one liner during the course of the show.
Melissa, she has always been my least favorite because she has just never brought much, her identity is tied up far too much in her sexuality and in being a lesbian. She does not have a great sense of humor, she's just kinda there and as time has gone on, you really don't even notice her on the air.
Jenn, she has become far too mouthy on politics for someone with a degree from FSU. She thinks she is far brighter and intelligent than she actually is and its grown tired. Oh, and in many circles in Atlanta its known that cheated on her husband Ryan and thats what led to her divorce.
Wendy, she joined the show doing traffic and while originally fresh and bringing a fresh, young voice to the show, she has quickly become old and tired.
I don't think there is really anything that can save the show at this point, there was a point where Bert was likeable and a couple fresh voices could have been added but its too late for that now, Bert is now the white Frank Ski. The Bert Show has become a bad, the View, instead of what it originally was which was likeable people and an entertaining and funny program. It was never ground breaking but it was good. Now, its old, tired and boring.
This is why now when I listen to morning radio, I just listen to Seacrest via the internet. Ryan is likeable and entertaining and has not let the celebrity go to his head. Ryan is a real celebrity and Bert is at best a quasi Atlanta celebrity.
If you listen to Bert and the gang and have grown tired of the same ole, same - you might want to give Seacrest a try or at this point Steve and Vicky, atleast Steve is still likeable even after 40 years in Atlanta radio.
The show originally began with Bert Weiss, Melissa Carter, Jeff Dauler and Lindsay from MTV'S Real World Seattle and Crash Clark did traffic.
Bert was married and didn't have kids and didn't suck up to celebrities, Melissa was going through kidney transplant, Jeff was playing phone scams and other great scams and Lindsay brought some quasi celebrity to the show. And sweet Crash, generally got drunk everywhere and brought even more comedy to the show.
The show was consistently entertaining.
Lindsay left year 2 I think when she took a job doing tv in Tampa, Fl. At that Jenn Hobby who had been doing some small bits on the show became a regular. Jenn was originally very likeable, she was dating Ryan Newell of Sister Hazel and brought a refreshing dating aspect to the show.
Over time, Crash was let go for a prank gone bad on another station and went to Boston to do radio. Bert had two kids. Jenn got married and divorced. And some others came and went, some more likeable then others but I kept listening.
Here are the problems with the show now, the show has moved up the ratings and in moving up the ratings, other opportunities have arisen, Jeff got in the biscuit business, Jenn started doing some minor tv, so did Bert, Melissa got another national radio show that has since been canceled but I think the outside stuff has killed the show and all of their heads have gotten too big.
