First, Laguna proves you do not stay friends and keep in touch with most of the people you went to hs with after a couple years. This is a good lesson and very true for anyone making decisions based on boyfriends or friends from hs, go do your own thing, you'll be glad you did!
Second, the hills is very true to life in that you never want to live with your best friend, nothing good can come of it. Live with people you either don't know or just know and they are kind of outside your circle. Most of time those people will be more respectful of boundries and make better roommates.
Third, as LC showed, don't ever not take a great opportunity for a boyfriend. If he's a keeper, he'll be there when you get back or who knows maybe you'll get back together down the road.
