Joran van der Sloot won't be rearrested in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway – despite what appeared to be his recent confession to the crime. An Aruban court of appeal ruled late Thursday that while van der Sloot remains the prime suspect, he could not be rearrested solely on the confession, which was secretly taped inside a vehicle rigged with hidden cameras and recording devices. The court found the Dutch student's statements could not be corroborated. Because he has given so many different versions of what happened the night Natalee disappeared nearly three years ago, it's hard to tell what really happened, the court says. "Considering the possibility of a serious personality disorder – as voiced by the prosecution – combined with a personal history of untrue statements and remarks, which even according to the suspect himself are frequently false, the Court of Appeal has reasons for doubt regarding the incriminating character of the 'car-statement,'" the court stated. Van der Sloot told a "friend" (who secretly recorded him for a Dutch TV show) that the Alabama teen went into convulsions and died on the beach the night she disappeared in May 2005. Then, van der Sloot said, someone dumped her at sea.
I'm not surprised anymore. I have said all along this is like the movie JAWS where the town trys to play off the shark attack as a boat accident. Aruba will continue to bury the truth. There are two many beautiful places in the world for anyone to waste their time on Aruba.

I have never been to aruba. I will never ever go to aruba because I am ashamed of the way aruban authorities handled natalee holloway case. If that is the way tourist are treated in aruba, why would anyone in their right mind would go to aruba. I believe their was a cover up from the very beginning because of who joran dad is. I believe in my gutt that paul van der sloot helped his son get rid of natalee's body. I bet he also got to certain people at carlos and charlies bar and threatened or paid them not to tell anything reguarding what happened that night natalee disappeared. There needs to be an investigation into the investigation by someone neutral that can find out who, what, when, and why. I have been to hawaii 4 times and there are so many beautiful places to go to other than aruba. We all need to boycott aruba and put pressure where pressure is due that will help solve this dispicable murder/cover-up. YES WE ALL CAN HELP NATALEE AND HER FAMILY GET JUSTICE THAT THEY DESERVE.!!!!!!
I think one thing is obvious. The Aruban authorities are corrupt - plain and simple. They've been paid off by the Van der Sloot's and I'm afraid Joran will never get his just punishment. He made a stupid, impulsive, careless and selfish decision that night - with no regard for human life - and he deserves to be punished.How any of the three Van Der Sloots can face their own reflection in the mirror is beyond me...

Its a shame what happened, this is no reflection on nh but you or your kids have to be very careful and aware when you travel. Joran knew that was the mountain brook kids last night. I don't believe the target was intially nh but the intention all along was to get a girl drunk and/or drug her, rape her, throw her back at the beach close to her hotel and wait for the next group. That's the amzing part to me is another girl has not come forward to say something like this happened to her. Be very aware when you travel. You will find laws, etc. are differnt everywhere and not nescessarily in your favor.
