This was left on a message board so treat it accordingly:
Rumor, Rumor, Rumor -- An Intern at MTV (my friend), told me LC will move to Paris in the summer. MTV will film here there, she didn't like the idea because she wanted Season 4.5 to be the last season of The Hills but MTV told her they will pay her 150k - 200k an episode, lol.
MTV knows the Paris Episode in Season 3.5 was their most highest rated show so they want to capitalize on that. They are also willing to show LC's other life (her clothing line, she will be attending a fashion school in Paris, they are also talking to Kyle Howard about making an appearance).
The rest of the cast have no idea what's going on, they thought they signed up for season 5 but they will be no season 5, the Paris show will be a brand new show. Speidi will be pissed.
I'm skeptical at best.
BTW: MTV is pissed The City Is not doing well.
Who says MTV is pissed about The City? Did you get that from the message boards too? How would anyone know that?
ReplyDeleteyes, that came from the same person with the rumors about Lauren and Paris. Like I said take it for what its worth - in my opinion - probably not much - but it is fun to read the gossip!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the City.
The city average 1.6 million viewers for episode 1 and then 1.298 millions for episode 2. That is less than Paris Hilton my BFF which was averaging 1.4 millions per episode. The Hills season 1 started out with 3.5 millions but the first season got 2.5 millions viewers on average, Hills season 2 got 2.75 millions, season 3 was around 4 millions, the extended season got about 3.9 millions per episode but that is due to the 1 hour Paris episode that got a whooping 4.9 millions viewers. The last season of the hills which was season 4 averaged 3.1 millions viewers per episode.
ReplyDeleteYou can't compare the City to the Hills. Lauren came from a very popular show, Laguna, and was arguably the most popular on Laguna. Whitney comes from the Hills where she was at best the fifth most popular - Lauren, Heidi, Spencer, Audrina, Whitney. I really doubt mtv expected the City to have anywhere near the fans of the Hills. The fact the City kept half the Hills audience with the fifth most popular character is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThe city needs to get more interesting or the ratings will drop even more.
ReplyDeleteFace it, for you to watch the City you need Lauren, you would not watch the Hills either withoug Lauren.
ReplyDelete^ true. if the hills storyline does not center around lauren in the s4 bonus episodes, i'm not watching.
ReplyDeletei bet if they had lauren star in the city it would be an instant hit.
They need to focus more on Lauren if the want The Hills to not fail in ratings. It's supposed to be her show, but the last episodes of this season was ALL about Audrina and Speidi. She was hardly even in them. And it doesn't help that her boyfriend can't be on there. That was one of the biggest parts to watch was her search for a man!
ReplyDeleteWhitney is as popular and likeable as Lauren. She is not the problem, its the cast: Jay, boring Erin, and Adams. They need to surround her with more interesting people and only keep Olivia from this stupid cast.
ReplyDeleteWhitney Is not even close to being as popular as Lauren, not even close. That is like saying lauren is as popular as Reese Witherspoon.
ReplyDelete^I agree I know when the episodes of The Hills centered around whitney and not lauren I wouldn't watch or get real bored. Sorry but lauren makes the The Hills I think ratings dropped because it wasn't about her anymore or her love life. That's what we like about the hills lauren's love life. I mean bromance had lauren on it for about 5 minutes and that 5 minutes was more interesting than The City. Watching her and brody flirt was cute.
ReplyDeleteMtv needs to bring lauren to THE CITY then I would watch that crappy, dull show. Yes, that cast is so lame they need to go. Keep whitney and bring on lauren to take on NEW YORK, a new city, new men, new friends. How do I contact MTV? LoL!.
ReplyDeleteThe Hills without lauren is like a apple pie without the apples. You would be missing the main ingredient.
ReplyDeleteI dont think Lauren will go to the City because it is Whitney's show. All the City needs is more interesting people. Erin should be dropped because she is useless and so is Adams. People love Whitney more so than Lauren. Everyone is always saying how she is the only reason they watch the hills but the cast members are killing the show. Olivia is fun to watch though
ReplyDeleteI think this show mtv is doing following kids at Wisconsin Univ. is going to be really good, I think it is probably going to be as close to reality as anything since season one of laguna which really was like a senior year book. I don't know when it starts but I am betting it will be so good. I bet their will be some good drama if they picked the right kids. I'm surprised they didn't pick USC or UCLA but I still bet its good.
ReplyDeleteLauren is probably going to Paris to keep her dads hands of her money, now that hes had to sell his house for half price and his other investments have tanked, I dont blame her..run Lauren run.
ReplyDelete^ What other investments of his have tanked?
ReplyDeleteWas it confirmed it sold?
ReplyDeleteI think Whitney is not even close to be the next Lauren Conrad...she just doesnt have in her...you know the drama!!! which is what we love about Lauren!...The Hills is a great hit because of Lauren and the whole papparazzi and gossip interaction...And MTV really need to focus on that.
ReplyDeleteI love The City..I think New York is a much cooler environment than stupid California..I'm so sick of seeing bimbo california blondes all day..and Whitney is smart, and got to where she is on her own, which I think makes her cool..unlike LC, who got the internship at Teen vogue because of laguna, whitney ended up there on her own, and now she works with dvf? huge huge. much more talented than lc. i think the city only works if you actually care about fashion and culture, if you are into the shitty drama of speidi that caused me to stop watching the hills like two years ago, you are going to be disappointed. also jay's accent is dreamy.
