Talan Torriero launches Cyberinterns.com!
A favorite past time of TV viewers aged 20-28 is keeping up with the cast of Laguna Beach on their quest for life after Laguna.
For many of them it’s been easy, watching Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari transition to ‘The Hills’ and bringing us fresh faces to keep track of in Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, and Whitney Port.
But back in 2004 MTV brought us a reality show that was the first of it’s kind. A real spin on Fox’s hit series, The OC.
Torriero was the resident ‘ladies man’ on the series, and after moving to LA and starring in a few movies, he’s taking on a new business venture, helping people from around the USA land virtual internships.
Recently launching Cyberinterns.com, Torriero hopes to create a place where employers can post positions that will benefit students and job seekers in building their resume without having to move to larger cities.
Virtual internships have grown largely over the past couple of years, and his new site is a one stop shop to help get opportunities they may not have gotten elsewhere in their area of interest.
In an interview with FIshbowlLA, Torriero, who is currently doing a virtual internship in social media at one of Starzlife’s favorite sites, Coverawards.com explains:
“In the last four years, I have had the opportunity to intern at some pretty incredible places, from Warner Bros. Records to Akiva Goldsman‘s production company. After that, I got the social media bug and decided to switch gears career-wise. I enrolled online at the University of San Francisco and got an internship at Lunch.com.”
From LA, Torriero chats with CoverAwards boss Mark Petsetsky a few times per week in New York and keeps him up to date on all of the social media operations.
He adds, “I am living proof that this process can be very seamless.”
For right now, potential employers can get a free 30-day trial on the site by using the code (FishbowlLA) when posting a position.
Talan is currently in the process of reaching out to many companies as well as college students across the country to check out his website and hopefully getting the perfect internship for them.
