The infamous self proclaimed “Queen of All Media”, Perez Hilton (real name Mario Lavandeira), is making the rounds this week to promote his new book, Red Carpet Suicide. The book is a guide to getting famous where no real talent is required, something Perez knows a lot about. Perez focuses on new school fame like that acquired by dating celebrities (like Kim Kardashian does so well) and “putting the ‘Ho in Hollywood’ by making sex tapes and releasing risque photos (which Kim also does well).
Perez said Paris Hilton (the inspiration for Perez’s moniker) played the game the best. Paris arguably does have a talent, and that is being famous. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag came in second place in the fame game. Perez says:
“I know them and they actually do love each other; it’s not a business relationship, but they do work the hell out of it.”
Sticking to The Hills, Perez says the celebrity he’s most sick of from 2008 is reality-TV star Lauren Conrad.
“She’s just become irrelevant. At least Spencer and Heidi are fun to write about. She’s been eclipsed by everyone — by Audrina, by Whitney, by Spencer and Heidi. I never count anyone out but she’s done for now. She’s got to shake things up. She’s dating some loser actor and they’re not even talking about it on “The Hills.” That’s the ultimate slap in the face.”
I don't think there is anything wrong with not always craving the lime light. Good for Lauren for doing the Hills which is now her job and then trying to have a private life.
