Lauren talks about wanting to get on the production side of the business. I believe Lauren is making a play to be named an executive producer on the Hills. This is where the BIG money is. That is why Seacrest has a production company and why Kris Jenner is an executive producer on Keeping up with the Kardashians. The production is where the big money is because you make money on syndication, international, etc.
My personal opinion is Lauren is playing the GAME to make even more and more money. She may also be looking for a deal with MTV where she would produce a number of shows for them.
Lauren obviously has good advisers.
