So I get a magazine called Atlanta Peach and this month featured an article with Audrina. In the article, they asked Audrina how she came to be on the Hills and it had 100% ZERO to do with Heidi. According to Audrina, she was at the pool at the apartment complex where they originally filmed(they later moved apartment buildings because the girls got harrassed) and a production assistant was scouting the building and the pool area and came across Audrina laying out and that is really how she came to be on the show.
So this tells me, the Hills is really a casted show pretty much like any other network show.
Tomorrow I will try and remember to bring the article and publish some more tidbits.
