So I gotta say I am almost totally in Olivia's corner on this one. First, Olivia did Jay and Whitney a favor by getting his band the gig to play at the charity event. Since they did not say otherwise I assume Jay and his band got PAID.
Second, Olivia did not say anything herself, it was her cousin who said they sounded like the Beach Boys and in fairness he really didn't say anything bad.
Third, Jay should have manned up and gone up to Olivia and even if he didn't really mean it, say, Hey Olivia, thank you so much for the opportunity, we had a good time.
Fourth, its not up to Whitney to fight Jay's battles, Olivia did her a favor. Even if it was a disaster, shut up, and when Olivia says how was it, you LIE and say what a great event it was and how much you appreciated being invited and leave it at that. If Olivia asks again, just say your busy or Jay is busy but thanks for thinking of them and leave it at that.
