"THE CITY" is a DONE DEAL!

It's official: Whitney Port's getting her own show.
As Usmagazine.com first reported, The Hills star will headline MTV's The City, which will track her journey from Los Angeles to New York City, the network announced Thursday.
The show is set to air next spring.
According to the release, Port, now a Diane Von Furstenberg employee, reunites with "a best friend from her past" and meets "a guy she's head-over-heels for."
"Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose," the release reads. "In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from."

In a statement, Port said: "I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally."
In June, her pal Lauren Conrad told Us, "I think that Whitney will do really well" with her own show. "She is a very likable person."

I am going out on a limb and predicting this show will not last a full season. It will be like that first show 24/7 or whatever that Frankie Delgado was on.

Ugh, this is just going to be LAME if you ask me.

She just isn't interesting enough to carry a show on her own. I hope she has fun friends!

I remember one of the most boring episodes of the hills this season was when they kinda focused on whitney when she went on that date with that male model oh man that was a snoozefest. Yes she needs some very interesting friends to carry the show.

The most personality Whitney has ever shown was when Frankie jumped in the pool and splashed her and then apologized and she said - I don't know you and I don't want to!

um 3:10pm, that wasn't Frankie, that was Doug :)

and I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the show pans out. i like whitney and i'm excited to see her take over NYC.

P.S. i had no idea she dated Ben Lyons back in 2007! hahaha

if we are, then it's definitely Doug. :)
