WAKE UP CALL: TEXAS GOV. BACK RESOLUTION AFFIRMING SOVEREIGNTY

Tue Apr 14 2009 08:44:54 ET

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

Perry continued: "Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas." [VIDEO] A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government. Did you go to school? Do you buy gas? Do you drive on the roads? The government is a part our daily lives whether you like it or not. Without gov. things would be in constant chaos.

I read this blog often because it is the only Hills blog that updates but your ignorance astounds me.

You are living in a fantasy world. I find it hard to believe that you have never met an honest person who genuinely needed a little extra help. Where do you place the mentally ill (which is a very large percentage of the homeless in this country)? I bet you would throw your own mother on the streets. Your views are very radical and you don't even know what you're talking about half the time.

P.S. Pirates are not terrorists. Go look up the definition of the word terrorist before you start running your ignorant mouth.

P.S. Stop talking to your dissenters like they don't have their own brain. I log onto this blog on average every other day and I am bombarded with talking points from the Republican party.

And you need to get off your "depending on the government" thing. It's completely irrelevant to about 97% of your stories.
