Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall told WRAL-TV on Wednesday that police are talking to a person of interest in the death of Carson. He declined to comment further.

WTVD-TV broadcast a video Wednesday of a man arrested during a raid in Durham who the station said was later turned over to Chapel Hill police.

Numerous calls by the Associated Press to police in Chapel Hill and Durham, and Woodall's office in Hillsborough, were not immediately returned.

The 22-year-old Carson was found last week lying on a street about a mile from campus. The Georgia native had been shot several times, including once in the right temple.
She had been valedictorian at Clarke Central High School in Athens before going to UNC, and hundreds of mourners turned out for her funeral on Sunday.
